Sonar has in the past been too unreliable at ultra low latency for me. There's nothing like playing a real fast tom or snare roll on the pad kit, and have the DAW with drum plugin track it as fast as the hardware unit. I am *way* too used to recording at ultra low latency now to give that up, and Reaper runs real happy at the lowest latency my Delta card can do. I don't need all those plugs I wouldn't have selected for another $150. Basically, if the Sonar 8 demo (when available) can run with my ASIO settings the way Reaper runs, which is breaking no sweat at all with the Delta control panel set to 64 samples latency, then I'll prolly pop for the $99 upgrade to Sonar 8 Studio Edition. I will be comparing the Sonar 8 demo to what I am used to and spoiled by from using Reaper as my 'go to' DAW.
